The word Gossip, used to mean something positive. It derives from the old English term ‘Godsibb’ and means godparents or kin. It was a word that described a mother’s chosen family, the people closest to her. We are taking back this word and create a new narrative around parenthood and mothering.
So join The Gossib Club!

What?

The Gossib Club will be a place to find like-minded parents. A place where we can dive into the practical and intellectual side of motherhood, the science, the politics, and the creative. A place where we can create a new language to talk about this experience and transformation together.

The Gossib club will be an online and offline meeting space. Online you will find book clubs, readings by interesting thinkers, and general discourse about matrescence and parenthood. Offline we will organise knit and needling circles for mothers of all sorts. ranging from pregnancy to grandmothers, and a writing circle for mothers with young babies.

We use (to) mother as a verb, to show a particular kind of transition and caring which is not necessarily gendered. So know that even though the word mother will be heavily used, you are also welcome if you do not identify as a mother, but still want to be part of the conversation.

  • Everybody is welcome to join the discorse about motherhood and parenting. Dreaming about becoming a parent or your kids are already grown up, we still value your insight. Let’s be open to learn from one another!

  • It’s a work in progress

  • will be announced shortly
